TECÉ PROJECT was born from the creative drive of Pablo Cabrera and Felipe Tejera, two musicians who, during the pandemic, brought together their worlds —Barcelona and Tenerife— to shape a musical project with a unique identity.
The band captures the urban spirit of the Catalan capital and the sonic blend of the Canary Islands, crafting a powerful and personal sound within the realm of jazz fusion. Compositions rich in nuance —counterpoints, complex time signatures, and ethnic rhythms— coexist with the improvisational freedom that defines the group.
The project stands out for the high level of performance of all its members: from the rhythmic foundation of Felipe Tejera (drums) and the harmonic support of Óscar Fanega (bass) and Roberto Clemente (percussion), to the tonal richness of Fran Suárez (keyboards), the melodic expressiveness of Pablo Cabrera (saxophone), and the improvisational intensity of Abel Herrera (trumpet).
TECÉ PROJECT nace del impulso creativo de Pablo Cabrera y Felipe Tejera, dos músicos que durante la pandemia unieron sus mundos –Barcelona y Tenerife– para dar forma a una propuesta musical con identidad propia.
La banda destila el urbanismo de la capital catalana y el mestizaje sonoro de las Islas Canarias, creando un sonido potente y personal dentro del jazz fusión. Composiciones llenas de matices —contrapuntos, compases amalgamados y ritmos étnicos— conviven con la libertad improvisadora que define al grupo.
El proyecto destaca por el nivel interpretativo de todos sus integrantes: desde la base rítmica de Felipe Tejera (batería) y el soporte armónico de Óscar Fanega (bajo) y Roberto Clemente (percusión), hasta la riqueza tímbrica de Fran Suárez (teclados), la expresividad melódica de Pablo Cabrera (saxo) y la intensidad improvisadora de Abel Herrera (trompeta).

This turns our work into a laboratory — even a creative residency for some of us — and our sound into the result of a serious and thoughtful process.
A total of 12 musicians took part in the creation of Songolía, resulting in 6 pieces where it was common to record the horns in Barcelona and the percussion in Tenerife.

Tecé Project se desarrolla entre Tenerife y Barcelona, con mucho trabajo on-line y viajes.
Esto convierte nuestro en trabajo en un laboratorio, incluso en una residencia para algunos de nosotros y a nuestro sonido en el resultado de un trabajo serio.
En la creación de Songolía han participado 12 músicos, el resultado son 6 trabajos en los que a menudo nos encontramos con que unos vientos se grababan en barcelona y la percusión en Tenerife. Esperamos que disfruten de este trabajo, como nosotros hemos disfrutado haciéndolo.
Felipe, a self-taught musician with a deep passion for music, began his professional career in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. He founded the iconic salsa band MALANGA together with close friends from his youth, before joining various local salsa orchestras and recording with artists such as Tony del Cielo and Combo Isleño.
In 2002, this talented artist moved to Barcelona to continue his studies at Taller de Músics and the Modern Music School of Badalona (EMMB). While studying, he had the opportunity to join Zulú 9.30, a world music band from Barcelona, with whom he recorded an important album titled "Conecta o Revienta", featuring a collaboration with MACACO.
The band toured throughout Spain and Europe and performed in RTVE-Madrid's “La 2 de RADIO 3” concert series. After collaborating with Barcelona-based musicians like Audiosonika and contributing to the book "Barcelona es bona si la música sona", Felipe joined the Latin Jazz band D'Belingo, performing in different venues across the Catalan capital.
In 2012, he returned to Tenerife to focus on teaching and developing his new project, Tecé Project, in collaboration with saxophonist Pablo Cabrera. During the pandemic, they presented their debut album "Songolía" at the "Tete Montoliu" competition organized by SGAE.

Felipe, músico autodidacta apasionado por la música, empezó su carrera proefesional en Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Fundó la emblemática Banda de Salsa MALANGA junto a amigos cercanos de su juventud, antes de ser parte de diversas orquestas locales de salsa y grabar con músicos como Tony del Cielo y el Combo Isleño. En el año 2002, este talentoso artista decidió mudarse a Barcelona para continuar sus estudios en el Taller Music y la Escuela de Música Moderna de Badalona (EMMB). Mientras estudiaba, tuvo la suerte de unirse a Zulú 9.30, una banda de música mestiza de Barcelona, donde tuvo la oportunidad de grabar un importante álbum titulado "Conecta o Revienta" que contó con la colaboración de MACACO. La banda hizo giras por diferentes ciudades de España y Europa y participó en los conciertos de la 2 de RADIO 3 de RTVE-Madrid. Después de colaborar con músicos de Barcelona como Audiosonika y participar en el libro "Barcelona es Bona si la música Sona", José se unió a la banda de Latin Jazz "D'Belingo", actuando en diferentes salas de la capital catalana. En 2012, decidió regresar a Tenerife para centrarse en la docencia y el desarrollo de su nueva formación, Tecé Project, en colaboración con Pablo Cabrera, Saxo. Durante la pandemia, presentaron su primer álbum llamado "Songolia" en el concurso "Tete Montoliu" de la SGAE. En resumen, la carrera musical de Felipe ha sido increíblemente variada y emocionante, llena de experiencias, colaboraciones y proyectos innovadores.

He was born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife forty-three years ago and began studying piano at the age of fourteen. Later, he took up the saxophone under the guidance of professor B.B. Martin, with whom he studied for several years before moving to London to continue his training at Lewisham College.
He later earned the Recital Certificate from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and graduated in Jazz and Modern Music from Middlesex University.
After working in London with various bands, he returned to Tenerife and formed the group CAFE TURKO, performing at different events across the island while also teaching modern music at the Municipal School of Tegueste. He later moved to Barcelona nine years ago to study Film Scoring, where he also founded the group QUARTET-PROJECT and collaborated with several ensembles such as IYALU, GORAN SLABICH VALKAN QUINTET, TRITO JAZZ BAND, and the quartet ROOM FOUR, for which he also serves as arranger.
His first venture into film music was with the short film “NAUFRAGS”, awarded Best Catalan-Language Film. He then composed the score for “EL MAL MENOR”, winner of the 2012 SITGES Festival, and recognized by Fotogramas magazine as the best Spanish short film of the year. That was followed by “LA SOMBRA INTERIOR”, recently premiered at the New York Queens Festival of Cinema, and later “5 AM”.
He is currently in post-production on several projects. He is also the director of the Si Bemol School of Music and leads the Si Bemol Big Band.
Nace en Santa Cruz de Tenerife hace cuarenta y tres años, comenzó a los catorce años a estudiar piano, más tarde vendría el saxofón de la mano del profesor B.B. Martin con el que estudió durante varios años, antes de marcharse a Londres a estudiar en el “Lewisham College”. Posteriormente obtendría el certificado de recitales por la “Guildhall School of Music and Drama” ingresando en la “Universidad de Middlesex” y graduándose en Jazz y Música moderna. Tras trabajar en Londres con diferentes bandas, vuelve a Tenerife y forma el grupo “CAFE TURKO” con el que trabajó en diferentes eventos de la Isla, mientras ejerció como profesor de música moderna en la “ESCUELA MUNICIPAL DE TEGUESTE” posteriormente se estableció en Barcelona hace nueve años para estudiar “Film Scoring” donde además formó el grupo QUARTET-PROJECT, además de trabajar con diferentes formaciones como “IYALU”, “GORAN SLABICH VALKAN QUINTET”, “TRITO JAZZ BAND” y el cuarteto “ROOM FOUR” de la cual además es arreglista. Hace su primera incursión en el mundo de las bandas sonoras con el corto ” NAUFRAGS” galardonado con el premio a la mejor película en habla Catalana, posteriormente escribió la bandas sonora de “EL MAL MENOR” ganadora del festival del “SITGES 2012” cortometraje considerado como el mejor corto a nivel nacional por la revista Fotogramas, después vendría “LA SOMBRA INTERIOR” que se acaba de estrenar en el “NEW YORK QUEEN ́S FESTIVAL OF CINEMA” y posteriormente “5 AM”.
En la actualidad está en fase de postproducción, además es director del aula de estudios musicales Si Bemol y director de la Si Bemol Big band.

His musical beginnings date back to his early training at the Raúl Sánchez Vocational School of Art, where he studied for four years and discovered his true artistic calling. That period marked the beginning of a path that has defined his life and shaped his artistic identity.
He later enrolled at the ENA, National School of Art, one of the most prestigious institutions in the country. There, he not only graduated as a professional musician, but also began his career as a teacher, sharing his passion for music and creativity with other young artists.
His career took a significant turn when he joined the Charanga Latina, the orchestra led by maestro Enrique Álvarez, with which he arrived in Spain as part of an international tour across Europe. This experience was key to his development, as it allowed him to broaden his horizons and connect with new cultures and musical traditions.
Since then, his life has been marked by a constant evolution between performance, teaching, and the exploration of new musical languages, in a journey that continues to grow and transform every day. His work blends tradition and innovation, shaped by experience, intuition, and curiosity.
Sus inicios en la música se remontan a su formación elemental en la Escuela Vocacional de Arte Raúl Sánchez, donde estudió durante cuatro años y descubrió su verdadera vocación artística. Aquella etapa marcó el comienzo de un camino que ha definido toda su vida.
Posteriormente ingresó en la ENA, Escuela Nacional de Arte, una de las instituciones más reconocidas del país. Allí no solo se graduó como músico profesional, sino que también inició su carrera como profesor, compartiendo con otros jóvenes artistas su pasión por la música y la creación.
Su trayectoria dio un giro importante al incorporarse a la Charanga Latina, la orquesta dirigida por el maestro Enrique Álvarez, con la que llegó a España en el marco de una gira internacional por Europa. Esta experiencia resultó clave en su desarrollo artístico, ya que le permitió ampliar horizontes, conectar con nuevas culturas y formar parte de un entorno musical diverso y enriquecedor.
Desde entonces, su vida ha estado marcada por una evolución constante entre la interpretación, la docencia y la investigación de nuevos lenguajes musicales, en un recorrido creativo que continúa creciendo y transformándose día a día.

Diego Cebollero is an Argentine guitarist based between Barcelona and New York, with a career marked by the exploration of diverse musical languages, particularly in reggae, jazz, Afro-Caribbean music, and urban fusion genres. Federico Ceballos is a bassist, guitarist, and musical director with a strong background in performance, teaching, and collective creation. His professional journey combines instrumental practice with a deeply rooted pedagogical and social commitment. As a teacher, he has given private lessons in bass, guitar, harmony, and voice, and has led group ensembles in styles such as pop, rock, and jazz. He has also taught theoretical subjects like harmony, ear training, and composition, tailoring his approach to different levels and contexts. Part of his academic work has taken place at La Colmena, School of Music in Córdoba (Argentina), where he directed the jazz ensemble with an inclusive and creative vision. His work extends beyond the classroom: he has led workshops in “Somo Pueblo”, a socio-cultural project that promotes music as a tool for social transformation, bringing singing and percussion to underprivileged communities. At the same time, he has worked as organizer and producer of the Migratory Arts Festival, a platform for visibility and exchange among migrant artists and diverse cultural expressions in constant movement.
Federico Ceballos es bajista, guitarrista y director musical, con una sólida formación en la interpretación, la enseñanza y la creación colectiva. Su trayectoria profesional combina la práctica instrumental con un compromiso pedagógico y social profundamente arraigado. Su enfoque combina la interpretación con la investigación sonora y la escritura musical, transitando con naturalidad entre géneros y formatos.
Ha publicado discos como “Cielos Americanos” e “Imaginario” junto a su trío, así como “Dr. GO Plays Led Zeppelin” y “Noctámbulos” con el trío de órgano Dr. GO. Ha trabajado en propuestas escénicas y audiovisuales, entre ellas la película Asmita (2010) o el espectáculo Crüilles (2011), y ha colaborado con artistas como Dani Nel·lo y Ana Finger.
En 2019 lideró la recuperación y edición crítica de la obra sinfónica completa del compositor chileno Juan Casanova Vicuña, proyecto financiado por el Ministerio de las Culturas del Gobierno de Chile y de alto valor para la musicología latinoamericana.

In 2019, he led the recovery and critical edition of the complete symphonic works of Chilean composer Juan Casanova Vicuña — a project funded by the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Chile and of high value for Latin American musicology. Currently, he balances creation and teaching, serving as a professor in the Film Music Master's program at the Conservatori del Liceu, at ENTI-UB, and having previously taught for a decade at Berklee College of Music (Valencia).
